Online Learning at Diamond Education Hub

Online learning is becoming increasingly popular, as it offers many advantages over traditional in-person classes.

For those of us leading busy lives, online classes are a great way to take courses and study while still juggling other responsibilities. Online classes allow you to learn at your own pace and choose when and where you take classes, making it easier to fit learning into your day-to-day life.

Online Learning: Student Life

Studies have shown that online learning can actually be more effective than traditional methods. You have access to course materials at any time, so if you need to review topics or clarify something from an earlier lesson, it’s an easy process—which is much harder to do in a traditional setting.

Online learning can be more interactive than what you find in a traditional classroom. You can communicate with your professor and classmates through forums and messaging services, and access available resources such as library archives and e-books from anywhere in the world.

You can also lean on the flexibility of online learning. Instead of having to set aside specific days for class, you can access the course materials whenever and wherever is convenient for you, allowing you better control over your own schedule.
Multitasking is more achievable too. Whether you need to pay attention to young children or complete a big project at work, with online classes you can fit in studying at whatever times of day work best for you.

What is a Fraction?

A fraction is a part of a whole. It’s written as two numbers separated by a line: the numerator (the top number) and the denominator (the bottom number).

Fractions can help us compare an amount to the full amount, or express a part of an amount. For example, if you had four slices of pizza, and wanted to divide them among two friends, you could use a fraction. Each friend would get two-fourths, or two out of the four slices.

When teaching fractions, it’s important to explain why fractions are important and how they are used in everyday life. Fractions can help us solve problems related to money, time, proportions, sizes and amounts. For example, if you wanted to double a recipe, you would need to use fractions to convert measurements.

It’s also important to show students how to work with fractions: how to add them, subtract them, multiply them, and divide them. You can use real-world examples to illustrate these operations, or assign practice problems.
